The Boston Celtics and guard Jrue Holiday have agreed on a four-year, $134.4 million contract extension, league sources confirmed Wednesday. ESPN first reported the new pact.
Holiday's contract includes $134.4 million guaranteed and an average annual salary of $33.6 million. He has a player option for the final season of the deal, according to ESPN.
The Bucks traded Holiday to the Celtics last offseason in a deal that sent Eric Bledsoe and George Hill to Milwaukee. Holiday averaged 17.7 points, 4.6 rebounds and 6.8 assists per game in his first season with the Celtics.
The Celtics are coming off a disappointing season in which they finished 36-36 and missed the playoffs. Holiday is expected to be a key part of the Celtics' turnaround in the 2021-22 season.
