Liverpool snatch dramatic late draw at Manchester City
De Bruyne and Jota trade early blows before Alexander-Arnold levels late on
Salah's goal keeps Reds within touching distance of City at the top of the Premier League
Liverpool snatched a dramatic 1-1 draw at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday, as Trent Alexander-Arnold fired home a brilliant equaliser in the dying minutes to keep the Reds within touching distance of Manchester City at the top of the Premier League.
City took the lead early on through Kevin De Bruyne, but Diogo Jota quickly levelled for Liverpool. The game ebbed and flowed throughout, with both sides having chances to win it, but it was Alexander-Arnold who had the final say, curling a superb effort into the top corner in the 89th minute.
The draw means that City remain one point ahead of Liverpool at the top of the table, but the Reds will be buoyed by their performance against the champions. They showed great character and resilience to come from behind and earn a point, and they will now be confident of challenging City for the title.
